HME Wireless Accused of Infringing Long Range Systems Patents with SmartCall SMS

On Tuesday, October 16, 2012 Long Range Systems (plaintiff) launched a suit against HME Wireless (defendant) for patent infringement in the U.S. District of Northern Texas (case no. 3:12-cv-04162).

 Long Range Systems is in the business of developing products like transmitters, pagers and radios. HME Wireless (formerly known as NTN Wireless) offers on-site messaging solutions to improve efficiency and customer service for a variety of businesses worldwide. This system is used in restaurants, hospitals, church nurseries, salons, and retail businessesto increase sales, productivity and customer satisfaction.

 

The patents involved in this suit are currently assigned Commerica Bank acting as an agent and Long Range Systems is the exclusive licensee of the patents. The details are listed below:

According to the complaint, the defendant’s accused product SmartCall SMSsystem allegedly infringes the above patents. SmartCall SMSs integrated system gives waiting customers, the option of being contacted with a restaurant pager, or via text message on their cell phone or smart phone.
