A patent infringement suit was filed in the Massachusetts District Court on Feb 21, 2013. The case involves the patent US7092509 entitled ‘Contact center system capable of handling multiple media types of contacts and method for using the same’ and is currently assigned[i]to Microlog Corporation (source: MaxVal’s Assignment Database). The patent was issued on Aug 15, 2006 and expires[ii]by Sep 21, 2019. Microlog’s patented system enables a company to control the flow of multiple types of media communication received from its customers.
The complaint says that defendant’s products and services including the Cisco Intelligent Contact Management and the Cisco Unified Contact Center infringe the methods described in the ‘509 patent. Stonebridge Life Insurance Company was the other defendant named in the suit. Complaint sought judgment of infringement, money damages, permanent enjoinment from using their patent and attorneys’ fees and other relief the Court may deem just and proper.
The case is concluded on Aug 22, 2013, as the parties, Cisco, Microlog and Stonebridge Life Insurance announced to Court that they have settled the case amongst themselves and filed a joint motion to dismiss the case. Upon considering the request, Judge Douglas P. Woodlock ordered dismissal with prejudice with no charges imposed on any parties.
