On Friday, October 05, 2012, Cradle IP (plaintiff) launched a suit against Altera Corporation (defendant) for patent infringement in the U.S. District Court of Delaware (case no. 1:12-cv-01282).

Cradle is in the business of offering  Networked Video Surveillance Servers. Cradle’s products also include complete Networked Video Servers along with associated system software, firmware and video content analysis software. Altera is a manufacturer of PLDs, reconfigurable complex digital circuits. Altera's main products are Stratix, Arria and Cyclone series FPGAs, MAX series CPLDs, HardCopy series ASICs and Quartus II design software.
