LG Electronics Inc. hits Toshiba Samsung Storage Technology Corporation
LG Electronics Inc. (the plaintiff) recorded patents-in-suit against Toshiba Samsung Storage Technology Corporation et al. (the defendant) on Wednesday, Aug 22, 2012 in the U.S District Court of Delaware for patent infringement. The defendant is an international joint venture of Toshiba Corporation and Samsung Electronics Co.Ltd.,

According to the complaint, this suit is filed for allegedly infringing a series of patents incorporated in disc drives and DVD writers. The plaintiff says that the defendant’s products, optical disc drives and DVD writers that comply with DVD+RW and DVD-RAM standards are covered by the patents-in-suit. The plaintiff in the past has not filed similar suit for the above mentioned patents. However, the company has filed other patent related as listed below:
