Summary:
The complaint was filed for infringing the US patent number 5987377 entitled Method and apparatus for determining
expected time of arrival
. The patent was issued on
Nov 16, 1999 and expires[i] by Feb 10, 2015 and currently assigned[ii] to Vehicle IP (source: MaxVal’s Assignment Database). 

The complaint stated that AT&T Mobility is making use of a navigation service that determines expected time of arrival including AT&T Navigator as claimed in the ‘377 patent. VZ (Verizon) Navigator, Garmin Mobile, TCS (TeleCommunication Systems) Navigator, TeleNav GPS Navigator and MobileCast are the other products that Vehicle IP has identified as infringing. 

Defendants including Garmin and United Parcel Service (UPS) were terminated before the case was closed. The
remaining Defendants then filed a Summary Judgment of Non-Infringement after which the Court granted a judgment in favor of the defendants. Further details of the verdict are not disclosed at this point of time.
